A Look at Sweden

Read though the article below as it is full of relevant information.

https://fee.org/articles/5-charts-that-show-sweden-s-strategy-worked-the-lockdowns-failed/

My biggest takeaways from this information are that:

-Sweden never locked down or masked and their outcomes were no different (and in most cases were better) than those countries who shut down their whole economies. I particularly like the graph below showing how it stacked up against American cities who had strong lockdowns and masking.

-The article points out that, “There is no correlation between lockdown stringency and COVID-19 deaths, while their harms are indisputable.”  I guarantee the mental health of the Swedes is far superior to the rest of the world. The Great Barrington Declaration which shines a light on the damage being done to humanity from a mental health standpoint and calls for a Focused Protection approach which takes into account risk and benefit of various strategies (see below).

-It is true that Sweden’s death rate is higher than some of its Nordic neighbors but most of their deaths were in nursing homes where people are elderly, likely have co-morbidities, and are in close quarters, and don’t get a lot of exercise or sunlight. Yes, maybe they could have done more to protect that population but it is hard to know for sure if that would have even helped.

I have shared some of the graphs here.
