Lin Wood

I have Georgia on my mind again today. This is a state I love and support and that I have lived in for 26 years. All three of my children were born and raised here. This yankee loves the south and the state of Georgia.

I am struggling right now with how things went down with this election. Struggling with how people I VOTED for have ignored me and many other supporters. You can go back and see my posts where I applaud Gov. Kemp for his handling of COVID 19. I fully supported him until I no longer could. He and the SOS could have easily put this all to rest by allowing a special session, a full audit and full transparency.

Now, today, I learn that esteemed attorney and GA fixture Lin Wood (he represented high profile cases like John Ramsey and Richard Jewel) is being attacked for exercising his 1st amendment right.

If you don’t agree with him, fine. If you have a problem with what he says – sue him for defamation (you will lose), don’t hire him, ignore him, or debate him. Any of these things are perfectly fine. The things listed below are not!

The Lawyer’s Club of Atlanta is threatening to expel him after 35 years in good standing.

His Alma Mater, Mercer Law School is threatening to remove his name from a courtroom named after him, while keeping his significant monetary donations that he has made over the years.

There are efforts to get him disbarred in the State of Georgia.

This is shameful, cowardly, and sends a clear message. The message is that you WILL be controlled, “or else ____________”, and the 1st amendment is an illusion.

Lawyer’s Club – Have your board vote on his termination. If terminated, refund him any dues or contributions he has made and .

Mercer Law School – Tell your students and alumni the truth – that differing thought will not be tolerated and reimburse every dime Lin Wood has contributed to your school.

Georgia Bar – We’re watching!

Georgia Lawyers – Go back to your law libraries because if you think this is all OK, you should go back to school. Also, you should be chomping at the bit to defend Lin Wood and the 1st amendment.

STEP IT UP GEORGIA!
